numbers of universities, colleges, employers,
professional bodies and government organisations
throughout the world. By preparing yourself for the
exam at Manchester Academy of English you can
improve your job prospects, increase your
application success in higher education and because
of the world wide recognition that Cambridge has,
you will be able to travel and live abroad easily.
We
have a superb 99% pass rate for students who have
studied on our preparation courses.
Manchester Academy of English is an official
Cambridge examination centre. We have courses for the following exams
which take
place in June and December:
Preliminary English Test (PET)
A
pass in PET indicates that the student has the
language skills to cope linguistically in typical
social and work situations in an English-speaking
environment.
First Certificate in English (FCE)
FCE
is an upper-intermediate examination. At this level
learners can expect to be able to work or study in
an English speaking environment and cope easily as a
tourist in an English speaking country. It is widely
recognised in commerce and industry as well as by
many university faculties and other institutions.
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
This is a high level qualification in English for
those wishing to use English for professional or
study purposes. At this level learners can be
expected to cope confidently in most situations that
would arise in an English speaking country -
socially, professionally and in higher education.
Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
This is a high level final qualification in English,
fulfilling English language entry requirements at
many British universities, and universities in other
English-speaking countries. It is also a
qualification for admission to courses for
employment demanding a thorough knowledge of
English. Learners can be expected to function at a
high level in nearly all situations in an English
speaking environment.
Please note all of the above courses run subject to
student numbers. Pre-course test will be given in
advance to ensure your level is high enough.
