Established in 1991, Manchester Academy of English welcomes more than 50 different nationalities each year. We are accredited by the British Council,as well as being a member of EnglishUK, a consortium of recognised English Language establishments located in the UK.

High quality teaching is our trademark and we are also an official centre for Cambridge examinations as well as IELTS and TOEIC. Our teaching team is highly qualified with the necessary experience to understand the learning difficulties encountered by foreign students.

The school has 22 well-equipped classrooms as well as a self-access centre where students can use computers and borrow resources from the DVD and book library. There is also free access to WIFI throughout the first and second floors. Our student lounge has a TV and a DVD player, as well as hot and cold drink and snack machines.

From your first day at the school, our reception, welfare and social organiser teams will be there to attend to your needs and ensure that you will take back with you the best of Manchester beyond the classroom.

On arrival at the school your level will be tested, and the results of this test will determine which class you will study in. Your progress will also be tested weekly to ensure that your level is improving and that your ability is challenged. We receive feedback from tutorials with our Academic Manager as well as our Accommodation & Welfare Officer, who hosts an Accommodation Surgery weekly.

Manchester is proud to be one of the best cities to live in within the UK, with a youth culture which has reclaimed the city centre and where modern and Victorian architecture compliment each other. It is also the proud home of Manchester City Football Club, with whom we run our successful English with Football Programme.
