My experience of studying English in Manchester has been amazing. I`ve come here for 3 weeks in order to improve my language and to get an idea about the city along with the North-West of England. Manchester appears to be a beautiful city, which is good enough for both education and holidays.
I have enjoyed every minute of my stay in Manchester and my studies at Manchester Academy of English . The school has helped me to improve my listening and speaking skills. I have found the teachers to be very enthusiastic and helpful. I have managed to make lots of friends with the students from all around the world. I've found my homestay to be very convenient in terms of location. The house I have been staying in is very nice and warm. My special thanks go to my landlady who has been very kind to look after me with such a great care.
I would like to thank everyone who helped my dream to study English in UK to come true. I would definitely recommend this school to other students and their parents.

I would strongly recommend Manchester Academy of English to anybody who wishes to learn or just improve English and gain unforgettable memories. The teaching method is great, with competent teachers who are passionate about their jobs and constantly push the students to be the best understanding of the languages' nuances. Thus, I can tell from my experience how dynamic the classes are.
I feel my English to be more improved since I started 5 months ago. In addition, the School is located at the heart of the city, with an excellent transport services.

I have gained friends from all over the world and their bonds are the ones that I cherish the most from my experience.

Considering the fact that this is my third time staying in Manchester, I think I kind of like it here. The reason I keep coming back is because of the great people I've met and the ones I will meet, the beautiful city and of course the well-known Old Trafford. In the Manchester Academy of English, I've had the opportunity to attend the classes with students coming from all around the world, and it's really nice to hear about different countries, cultures and languages.
The widely experienced teachers are doing a great job too, because they manage to teach us a lot just by making us to talk a lot and it's the best way to learn the language. I've recently had the chance to see a derby between Manchester City and Manchester United. I really enjoyed watching it and the atmosphere that the people create is wonderful.

I really enjoy staying here, and I already know that I'll keep coming back.

Mariana Garduno

I like the organisation and the teaching at the Academy and it is very easy to find in the city.
I have made lots of friends which has made my course a lot easier. I love Manchester United and Manchester as it's a small city and easy to travel around.

Manchester is a nice place to study and live because the people are very friendly and helpful. Nice cities are nearby like Liverpool, Chester and Lancaster and are easy to reach. The school is in a good location as it is in the city centre and it is easy to travel to and from on the buses and trams.
There are 2 - 3 trips organised by the school which is good for students as they can see the attractions in Manchester and football matches.

Arnau Martinez Miro – Barcelona – 23rd Nov 2010

I think most of us have passed which means we chose a good academy to prepare the exam.
Thanks again!

I have been here for 5 months and I like the school; there is lots of opportunity to make friends here.
My teachers are very good and the lessons are interesting as the teachers have good teaching skills. They give students alot of opportunity to practise their English in class discussions. I feel I have made very good progress with my English.
I stayed with a host family when I first arrived in Manchester, they were very nice - I would recommend staying with a family to new students, as it is a good introduction to British culture and it's nice to eat British meals.
Manchester is a very dynamic city and there is lots to do, day and night.

I have been here for 5 and a half months, I like the school very much, it is very high quality and the teachers genuinely care about the students.
I have made good progress, I started at pre-intermediate level and have progressed to upper intermediate and am now studying on the FCE course.
I have made lots of friends from all over the world and have even visited Turkey with a friend I made here. I have stayed with the same host family since I have been here, they are very kind and help me practise my English.
Manchester is a geat city, especially if you're a music or football fan and it's much cheaper than London!

I have been at the school for 5 months.
The teachers are really good and energetic. The classes are very interesting and change all the time; there are lots of different teachers and students, so you can meet lots of people. I couldn’t speak any English when I arrived and now I am at the top level of intermediate!
I’ve made new friends from all over the world and have learnt about many different cultures.
When I first arrived I stayed with a host family who were very nice and I learned a lot about the English culture.
Manchester is great, it’s in the middle of the country so it’s easy to get to other destinations. I have visited Scotland, Chester, Liverpool and lots of other places, I have taken part in lots of trips organised by the school and it’s a great way to make friends.
I would recommend this school to anyone, in fact my brother is coming here soon.

Manchester is great – it is a big city but it is much cheaper than London and less busy, but you can still have a great social life.

Abdullah Al Sagoor - Saudi Arabia - October 5th 2009

My experience in the Manchester Academy was great.
All the people there are kind and helpful and I think I improved my English easily.
The classes are small so that you have time and space to speak and to interact with other students, who really come from all over the world!
I got in touch with different people from different countries and this helped me opening my mind. Now I have their e-mails and we can often speak through the Internet.
The school suggests some trips, which are really nice and funny.

The City is really nice, not so big, but really enjoyable. It is full of students and you can feel that it is alive!
It has lots of pubs and bars where you can enjoy your free time and have fun with your friend.
One thing that I really liked where the parks, which are big and wonderful. The atmosphere is bracing and life is easy. What else? My stay there was very beautiful.

Yann Krzemian. Feb '09 (France)

All of the teachers are very nice, it was very easy to improve my level of English with them, especially speaking and listening, which I found hardest.
The school is very good as it's next to the Northern Quarter, which has lots of bars, shops and clubs. Everything is close in Manchester, after a short time you know everywhere and feel comfortable. My host family was very nice and close to Manchester Academy. I would recommend a family stay, it was just like being at home and you can practise your English all the time.
I would recommend this school to any student.

I like studying at Manchester Academy of English, because I can learn the four skills: reading, speaking, writing and listening.

There is a test every Thursday, when I can check my weakness and how much I have improved. In addition, there is a tutorial every month. The Director of Studies asks about my lessons and my homestay. I feel that the school not only looks after my studies but also my life in Manchester. The facilities in the school are also nice. I can use the library, student lounge and computer room. I am particularly pleased that computers, which support several languages, are free to use. So, I can easily communicate with my family and friends in Japan by e-mail.

In addition, social activities are run twice a week, when we can visit interesting places in Manchester, for example, museums, galleries and restaurants. They are very good opportunities to make new friends from all the different classes.

The school is located in the Manchester city centre. There is very easy access to all transport, such as buses, trains and trams. And there is also a big shopping centre near by called The Arndale Centre, as well as a lot of shops, cafes and department stores. It is very convenient!
