Congratulations to Manchester Academy of English 5-a-side football team won the Student League on Wednesday 7th December 2011 after a 9-8 win in the final. The team have been playing every Wednesday afternoon and have lost only 2 games all season. Some players have played most the games but had to go home before the end of the season, but some have been here through the whole of the season, and have worked very hard to ensure they were ready for each game!

We are very happy to welcome English Language Centre York to our TUI language family!
ELC York was established in 1997 with the aim of offering top quality English language courses in a welcoming and professional atmosphere. The school is accredited by the British Council and by EAQUALS (the Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality in Language Services). Furthermore, the school's International Foundation Programme is accredited by York St John University and its Teacher Training Courses are accredited by the University of Cambridge (ESOL). CONGRATULATIONS!On 14th May 2011 Manchester City Football Club finally ended their 35 year wait to win a major trophy, by beating Stoke City 1-0 in the FA Cup Final at Wembley. 12 days later, on Monday 26th May, the players conducted an open top bus party to parade the trophy around the city centre, with over 100,000 fans lining the streets to show their support. We, at Manchester Academy of English, we were lucky enough to have the parade pass right outside our school...which gave us a chance for a party.
We provided soft drinks and snacks to the students, as well as a unique opportunity to take photo's and show some love to the players from our first floor window, which put us at direct eye level with the boys on the top of their bus! 
EAC World OpeningOur partner school - EAC World, which is also part of TUI travel, opened its new building in Edinburgh on 14th February. The school, which is based in central Edinburgh, occupies a fine Georgian building in one of Edinburgh's principal streets, George Street. Helen Kozak, Senior Marketing Executive, participated in the opening party and congratulated our colleagues on behalf of Manchester Academy of English. Well done EAC! From Russia with LoveManchester Academy of English was delighted to welcome agents from 7 different Russian regions - Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. Our staff prepared presentation about the school, its courses, facilities and services. Agents had a chance to experience our lessons, by attending a demo lesson 
They also had a tour of Manchester following by a wonderful dinner at Malmaison restaurant.

Social Programmeorganised by Manchester Academy and International Society As winter draws in and the weather gets colder don`t worry we still have a fabulous social programme to warm your heart! From ice skating to tours of Manchester United stadium, from Manchester Museum to the wonderful Christmas markets, there`s festive fun waiting for you!

Football in the park Probably the most cost effective of our many social programmes but always the most popular. A good time was had by all, even when we were chased off the green by the tractor. No really! 
Bowling Another fantastic night out, 6 games of bowling, drinks and food just for £6. The competition was fierce but the Libyan boys stood head and shoulders among the rest. Think you can do better? Sign up! 
Salsa Night! Drinks, dancing, salsa, nachos, great music. It doesn’t get much better than this. Even better, us 'regulars' are getting pretty good at the dancing part of the evening. It was great to see people move from elementary to intermediate and even advanced! 
Horse Riding In Flixton A professional horse riding lesson in sunny Flixton. With the teacher safely away from the evil looking horses, students learnt to gallop, prance, stop and ride their horses under expert tutelage. 
City Art Gallery Time for a little culture. City centre art gallery is always popular, especially the hands on exhibitions where students were able to create their own ‘works of art’.
