INFORMATION AND CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION

 

1. Application

Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Please complete the application form and tasks in detail.

We can only accept your application along with both tasks and the £300 deposit.

If paying by credit card, please complete the credit card authorisation form.

2. Pre-course task

After you have been accepted on the course, you will be issued with an additional pre-course task. You will be asked to complete the task before starting the course. The task is designed to raise your awareness of some of the areas of the course and will give you the opportunity to prepare for the CELTA course. The task should be taken seriously but we do not expect you to complete the task in one sitting. It could take up to 15 hours to complete.

We can recommend the following list of books in order to help you prepare for the course, these books will also be useful on the course and throughout your teaching career.

The Practice of ELT - Jeremy Harmer (Longman)

Learning Teaching - Jim Scrivener (Macmillan)

Practical English Usage - Michael Swan (OUP)

Teaching Tenses - R Aitken (Nelson)

3. After the Interview

If your application has been unsuccessful and we can not offer you a place on the course that you have applied for, Manchester Academy Teacher Training (UK) Ltd will return your deposit less a £50 administration fee.

If, after the interview, you decide that you do not wish to accept a place on the course, please send a letter of cancellation to the Director of the school within 48 hours of your interview time. If the letter is received, Manchester Academy Teacher Training (UK) Ltd will return your deposit less a £50 administration fee. We recommend that you deliver the letter by hand or use registered post.

4. Refunds

No refunds or credit will be given for early departure, absence, or illness during the course. You are recommended to take out insurance to cover this.

5. Insurance

We recommend that every student takes out insurance to cover events such as: cancellation or curtailment of the course booked caused by illness, death or injury of spouse, partner, sibling, parent, or child. Please apply for the Feeguard Insurance by going through the www.course-u-can.com website.
